Niagara Falls Cruise Schedule & Departure Times

Boats run frequently through the season, but the exact timetable shifts with weather, demand, and time of year. Here’s what’s fixed, what varies, and where to check live times.

The 2026 season

The 2026 season began Thursday, May 1 at 9:30 AM, and the season typically operates into late November. Because it depends on weather, river conditions, and ice conditions, the shoulder weeks at either end are never guaranteed — the exact closing date isn’t fixed in advance, so check the booking calendar for the last available date rather than assuming a late-November date is bookable.

Operating hours

  • Spring and fall: roughly 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Summer: the longest window, with our latest departures running to 7:30 PM.

Hours are not identical every day, so treat these as the shape of the day, not a guarantee. Tour schedules may change without prior notice.

How often boats depart

Cruises leave every 15–20 minutes during operating hours, weather permitting. Boarding is first-come, first-served within the operating flow — your ticket secures your place on the cruise, but not a specific boat at a specific minute, so exact departure times can vary during busy periods.

How much time to budget

  • The cruise itself: about 20 minutes.
  • Your whole visit: plan 60–90 minutes, covering check-in, the walk to the Lower Landing, the boarding wait, the ride, and getting back up.

If you’re building a full day around it, see the best time of day to cruise for how to choose a departure time within our window.

Every departure is the same cruise

We sell the standard Voyage to the Falls, and every departure enters the Horseshoe Falls basin for the full-mist experience — there’s no separate “evening” product to choose between. Departures run from morning through early evening, until 7:30 PM, so the only real decision is when in that window suits your day.

Note: Niagara Falls illumination and fireworks night cruises are a separate, after-dark product run by the operator and are not what we sell here. Our latest standard departures are at 7:30 PM.

Checking live times and availability

The site doesn’t publish a fixed clock-time timetable because departures move with conditions. Current tour times and availability are live in the booking calendar — and because tickets often sell out weeks in advance, booking early is the reliable way to lock in a date and departure.
